Few films take you on to a different world all together and you just keep on watching with your jaws open. That was the feeling when I saw “Jurrasic Park” for the first time and then went on to see it again. There were graphics and visuals never seen before specially by Indian viewers. The realness of the creatures build and the ambience of the Park is impressively believable. The movie created new awareness about dinosours and their world. As you watch it, at times you feel lively, then frightened and even sorry for the poor creatures in some scenes. The movie will make you a fan of Steven Spielberg surely, but his other movies are quite different from this one. The film is equally enjoyed by children and elders together and its a very energetic, adventurous and knowledgeable experience. It would be great if you can see it on the Big Screen or if not possible then atleast with good sound options. Highly recommended for everyone in the family.
Directed By Steven Spielberg
Starring : Sam Neill, Laura Dern, Jeff Goldblum, Richard Attenborough & more.
Its about a creature from another world and how it builds relations with a child on earth. A scientific emotional movie. Its argued that the idea of this movie and even the appearance of the creature was inspired by a script of Satyajit Ray which was being circulated among the best production houses in Hollywood before this movie was made. If its true, which I believe to be, then Spielberg must express it as a respect towards one of the world’s 10 best directors of cinema, Satyajit Ray. The film is highly entertaining and leaves a strong impact over the viewer. Hindi bollywood blockbuster “Koi Mil Gaya” was also inspired from this movie. An entertaining must for the younger viewers.
Directed By Steven Spielberg
Starring : Henry Thomas & Dee Wallace
Undoubtedly one of the top five adventure movies I have ever seen. A complete entertainer for everyone young or old. A film you will enjoy immensely. Unbelievable special effects are the highlights of this movie. The graphically generated monkeys are the best of the lot and also not to be missed are the running rhinos and elephants through the town. You are just scared of what’s going to be the next while watching this movie and you will not like to move from your seat till it ends. Robin Williams is superb in his getup when he returns from the forest and in his fight with the lion in the house. Truly its a lifetime achievement by the makers of this movie and its simply a crime to miss this.
Directed By Joe Johnston
Starring : Robin Williams, Kirsten Dunst & More
One of the finest actor I have seen is Tom Hanks and I also admire him for the kind of movies he opts for. Apollo 13 is based on true incident when a space shuttle went to explore the moon but had to be called back due to technical defects. The astronauts in the shuttle just saved themselves from being lost in the space. NASA and the astronauts with all there efforts found a way to came back to earth. A very tight script movie which makes you sit straight on your couch. You also come to know how the Astronauts feel in the shuttle when they are in space. The best scene is when they are can see the surface of moon from thier spacecraft but due to the technical faults cannot land there. Again a must watch Tom Hanks movie and you will feel a new kind of experience watching it.
Directed By Ron Howard
Starring : Tom Hanks, Bill Paxton, Kevin Bacon & Gary Sinisie
Amazingly crafted movie with almost every scene enhanced by the computer graphics. The 2 DVD Edition is a sure treat to watch. The long length of the movie seems so short as you watch the film and in the end you are there asking for more. King Kong’s emotions are excellently filmed. The 2nd DVD has a Production Diary which shows each department of the post production and all the other shooting units filming at the miniatures and the blue screens. Such a detailed special feature DVD is only the first of its kind I suppose. Best suited for a Saturday evening with family and specially for the children. They will love this huge creature called King Kong throwing away the Dinosaurs with his hands. The sequence when the crew lands at the Island is just superb. Naomi Watts also deserves appreciation for her emotions portrayed for the creature.
Directed By Peter Jackson
Starring : Naomi Watts, Jack Black & Adrien Brody
