Fardeen Khan’s “Ek Khiladi Ek Hasina” is loosely based on “CONFIDENCE” featuring Dustin Hoffman playing the role of DON which was done by Feroz Khan in the Hindi Version.

Ek Ruka Hua Faisla

I really like this movie for the fine acting by every single person in it. The top of them were Anu Kapoor and Pankaj Kapoor both portraying the old characters when actually they were very young. But I was really disappointed to find that the film was a scene to scene and frame to frame copy of Henry Fonda’s “12 ANGRY MEN”. You will have to watch it to believe it. Again a very finely executed copy i must say.

Ek Chhoti Si Love Story

The film is inspired from mainly “Krótki film o milosci” (1998) a portugese movie in which a youg teenage boy spies on a girl in the building opposite his house. The English title of the movie was “A Short Film About Love” Check out at:

The idea of a young teenage boy watching a lady was also there in “Malena” featuring Monica Belluci. However the Indian version of these movies was not convincing at all and was used as a marketing gimmick.

Ek Ruka Hua Faisla (1986) / 12 Angry Men (1957)

Though this is version of an english black & white classic “12 Angry Men”, still I consider acting by the 12 men in the Hindi movie a step ahead of all the 12 English Men. Special mention must be there of Annu Kapoor And Pankaj Kapoor who played old men, when actually both were very young and new at that time of their career. Both the movies are without any songs and with only 12 characters. Both “12 Angry Men” & “Ek Ruka Hua Faisla” surely deserve to be in the collection of all movie lovers. In the English version Henry Fonda deserves a special mention for his strong acting skills. He is simply superb in the movie. I strongly recommend you should see both the versions.
