Jannat – Real Life Inspirations

As everyone may have judged, Jannat is based on the real life incidents of raids on bookies and gambling involved in Cricket. And the movie also has a sequence in which a team’s coach is murdered as he checks in when the players are taking bribe. This was surely inspired from the suspicious & sudden demise of a coach in the last cricket world cup.

Jaane Bhi Do Yaaron

No doubt “Jaane Bhi Do Yaaron” is one of the best comedy made in Bollywood.
Its director & actors really deserve all the appreciation and I also love this flick a lot.
There is only a similarity in the main mystery plot of the movie, where a photograph is clicked in a park which also captures a murder in the background. Then the photo is magnified again & again to get the real incident.
The same sequence is there in 1960 Hit “Blow Up”. But the similarity rests here only as the English Version is not a comedy. So both movies are quite different with only this one similarity.
It was indeed remarkable of Kundan Shah who also paid due respect to the fact and named the park (where the murder takes place in the film) as “Antonioni Park”. Blow Up is directed by Michael Antonioni

Janbaaz

This hit movie gets its inspiration from “Duel in the Sun” (1946) featuring Gregory Peck & Jennifer Jones. A girl comes to live in a new house after her father death. There she meets a father, a womanizer son and another son who is a lawyer and then falls in love with one of them. Quite similar.

Judwaa

Inspired by Jackie Chan’s movie “Shuang long hui” (1992), also know as “The Twin Dragons”. The movie has twin brothers, one is a musician and also has many similar sequences too.

Judaai (1997)

Surely inspired from “Indecent Proposal” with the lead roles reversed. In the hindi version it’s the girl who makes an offer for buying the Husband of another lady. Its also reportedly based on a South movie too.
