Both these films take their basic plot from 1988 releases Eddie Murphy’s “Coming to America”. In both the movies a prince runs away from his kingdom with his friend and comes to a city in search of a life partner, same as Eddie Murphy does in the original.

The Basic Idea of the media rivals and the crime angle is inspired from “Switching Channels” which was also a remake of “The Front Page”.
The Salman, Govinda starrer Partner is a desi version of “Hitch” and is surely not a very inspiring copy with ligth sequences and exact replica of scenes from the English Flick. Surely we can do much better…..but everything goes right if the film becomes a big hit.
Phir Milenge featuring Shilpa Shetty, Abhishek & Salman is a very loose copy of the great movie “Philadelphia”. In the original classic there is Tom Hanks as the Aids victim and is one of the best movies you will ever see. Highly recommended.
This time a very slick comedy “There’s Something About Mary” is the original idea and in the hindi version it is turned into a serious thriller kind of movie. All guys falling for the same girl are real serious here whereas in the English Hit they are all funny with no limits. The same movies is again followed in “Deewane Hue Pagal” in 2005 but it’s a comedy this time.
